Katharine pants.

sweater, pants: f21; loafers: Madewell; necklace: AE

Whenever I wear these pants I simultaneously feel like an old lady and Katharine Hepburn (I usually imagine her as an awesome woman journalist, too).

I generally try to channel Katharine as I stride through the halls of Morton although I'm about five inches shorter than her so when I stride I look like a little kid trying to jump from puddle to puddle. I think I intimidate people. Or scare them. Same thing.

Also, those shoes? Final birthday-money present to myself. And thebestthingever. Leather loafers = most comfortable shoe ever.

p.s. I gave into my urges and bought a crap load of awesome postcards today so I could make this over the weekend. Be excited. I sure am.

p.s. i made this

I have been veeerrrry productive this Labor Day Weekend. And it isn't even over yet!
I finally made this shoe organizer that was a part of the online sewing class I signed up for... last year. Needless to say, I've been taking my time. Sometimes finding the time to sew is impossible.
For this particular project I had a pretty big incentive.
My shoes sit in wicker baskets in an unorganized heap. Or rather, they sometimes sit in wicker baskets, usually they are all over our apartment. Strewn about in the living room, kitchen, bathroom, office, wherever I decided to kick them off. It drives Dan nuts. We were cleaning the house yesterday and by the time the living room was picked up there was a pile of about 6 pairs of shoes near the couch.
Time to find a better system, no?
So I did.
And I like it. Burlap and blue gingham. I feel like Laura Ingalls.
AND almost all of my shoes fit. Happy husband.

o.m.geeeee!!!

EEeep! The first day of school coincided with the day my boots arrived! I'm gonna go ahead and chalk that up to a good great day. These boots. I tried to talk myself out of them because they are on the pricey side. But, after two weeks of going back to the website every 10 seconds to drool I decided to purchase.
My first real leather boots, guys.
That's class.
And comfort.
Oooh so comfortable.
Like slipping my feet into butter.
Except that sounds kinda gross. It's like slipping my feet into really soft leather. Because that's what I am doing. I never thought I would say this but Fall cannot come soon enough. These babies will be on my feet for the next four months. I. cannot. wait. for. Fall.

New Red Shoes. New Red Bike.

We are in Newport, RI for the next 7 or so weeks and the weather is AMAZING.

BUT, not as amazing as my new red shoes (so comfy)

AND my new(ish) red bike

The bike needs a little love, a little T.L.C. The rims are terribly rusty from years of neglect and we bought new tires and tubes but she is beautiful. Everything is original on bike (even the tires, though we are replacing them). I love it! A weekend of some serious sandpaper and some steel wool and she'll be ready to take me downtown.
As for the shoes, they came ready to wear, no assembly required!
